June 25 and Saturday, June 26. CLE credits

pleased to announce that Dr. Edward Decter of CFO
Medical Services will present a medical seminar on
Saturday, June 26th. Don’t miss this opportunity to
hear Dr. Decter speak firsthand on orthopaedic
injuries, pathology, gross anatomy, degenerative
diseases and MRI report findings and their
relationship to physical exam findings. Our golf
tournament will be held on Saturday, June 26, and
the annual President’s Reception and installation of
Officers will be held Saturday evening. We are proud
to join the DRI Atlantic Region and the Connecticut
Defense Lawyers Association at the Mystic Marriott
for a combined Cocktail Party and Clambake on Friday
evening, the first joint networking and social event
of its kind!

of full or partial tuition waivers for NJ attorneys in good standing
with limited financial means who earn less than $30,000 annually.
Full or partial scholarships may also be awarded due to special
circumstances. Please submit your request 3 weeks in advance of the
desired program. Provide a statement explaining your circumstances,
information re: personal & household income and contact information
that includes your name, address, phone number and email address.

NJDA
Trial College |
The NJDA held its annual Trial College on Friday,
February 12, 2010 at the Union County Court House in
Elizabeth, NJ. The Trial College focused on a practical
approach to the cross-examination and direct testimony
of fact and expert witnesses in the defense of a civil
automobile litigation case. Retired Judge Walter R.
Barisonek and Orthopedic Surgeon, Edward Decter, M.D.
were featured instructors at the event this year, which
was attended by over 60 attorneys and 14 instructors.

Product Liability Defense Strategies |
The New Jersey Defense Association and the New
Jersey Corporate Counsel Association sponsored a joint
seminar on Friday, March 12, 2010 at the Hilton
Woodbridge entitled “Product Liability Defense
Strategies.” Topics included Strategies for Defending
Claims under the NJ Consumer Fraud Act; Protecting the
Attorney-Client Privilege in the Electronic Age; The
Structure and Operation of NJ’s Mass Tort Courts; Update
on Federal Preemption of Drug & Medical Device
Litigation; Tort Reform Update and an Update on Ethics
Issues from In-House and Outside Counsel Perspectives.
