Mission Statement:

The New Jersey Defense Association establishes a communication link among New Jersey defense attorneys, insurance claim professionals, self-insurers and other corporations who devote a substantial portion of their time to the defense of damage suits or to claims administration.

Its purposes include:
bullet Establishes a communication link among New Jersey defense attorneys, full-time executives, managers or supervisory employees of insurance companies, self-insurers and other corporations who devote a substantial portion of their time to the defense of damage suits or to claims administration.
bullet Encourages the prompt, fair and just disposition of tort claims.
bullet Enhances the knowledge and improves the skills of its members.
bullet Supports and works for the improvement of the adversary system of jurisprudence in operation of the courts.
bullet Promotes improvements in the administration of justice and enhances the service of the legal profession to the public.
bullet Works for the elimination of court congestion and delays in civil litigation.
bullet Cooperates with programs of public education directed toward safety and the reduction of highway and other casualties.
bullet Provides strong representation of members' common interests.
bullet Sponsors educational seminars, a quarterly newsletter and an annual convention. Training is also undertaken through such vehicles as a Trial College and other special education programs.
bullet Publishes a Directory of Medical Experts available only to its members.
